Terms of Use
The terms that apply when you use GoodLift.
These Terms are written in plain English to be clear and practical. They are not legal advice. If you need advice about your specific situation, please consult a qualified professional.
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Razors Edge Personal Training LTD ("we", "us", "our") and govern your use of the GoodLift mobile app and related services ("GoodLift"). By downloading, accessing or using GoodLift, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use GoodLift.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your login details secure. Provide accurate information when you sign up, and keep it up to date. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use GoodLift, and old enough to form a binding agreement where you live. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you should only use GoodLift with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
4. Membership, pricing and automatic renewal
GoodLift offers a paid membership that provides access to the app's training features. The membership price is NZ$29 per month. Local pricing outside New Zealand may vary, and applicable taxes may apply.
Membership is billed on a recurring basis and renews automatically for successive periods until cancelled. Billing is handled by the provider you subscribe through — Apple's in-app purchase system or Stripe — and that provider's terms also apply to your purchase.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You manage or cancel through the provider you used to subscribe:
- Apple subscriptions: manage through your Apple ID subscription settings.
- Website or Stripe subscriptions: use the subscription-management link supplied through your billing flow, or contact support.
- Google Play subscriptions: when applicable, manage through Google Play subscriptions.
Deleting your GoodLift account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Cancel your subscription separately through the provider you used to subscribe.
6. Refunds
Refunds are handled under the rules of the provider you purchased through (for example, Apple's App Store refund process or Stripe), and under any applicable consumer law, including the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act where it applies. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
7. Restoration and device changes
Your GoodLift membership is linked to your GoodLift account. Sign in with the same email-based GoodLift account on another device to access the account and its active membership. Store purchase restoration remains subject to the platform and account used to subscribe; for example, an Apple purchase is restored using the same Apple ID.
8. Acceptable use
You agree to use GoodLift lawfully and not to: misuse, disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service; reverse engineer or interfere with the app except as permitted by law; upload unlawful, harmful or infringing content; or use the service to harass others or infringe anyone's rights.
9. Intellectual property
GoodLift, including its software, design, branding and content we provide, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use GoodLift for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, sell or redistribute the app or its content except as allowed by law.
10. Content you provide
You keep ownership of the content you create in GoodLift, such as your plans, logged training and any media you upload. You grant us a licence to host, store and process that content as needed to operate the service and provide it to you. You are responsible for the content you provide and for ensuring you have the rights to share it.
11. Fitness and medical disclaimer
GoodLift is a training tool, not a medical service. The app and any recommendations it provides are for general informational purposes only and are not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Strength training carries inherent risks. You are responsible for choosing exercises appropriate for you, using safe technique, and exercising within your abilities and any limitations you may have.
Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting or changing a training programme, especially if you have an injury, a medical condition or any concerns. GoodLift does not guarantee any particular strength, physique or performance results. Progression recommendations are informational guidance grounded in the training you record, not a promise of outcomes.
12. Service availability
We work to keep GoodLift available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features from time to time. The app relies on third-party services, and interruptions to those services may affect availability.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using GoodLift at any time and delete your account through the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the service or other users. If your access ends, sections of these Terms that are intended to survive — such as intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability — continue to apply.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoodLift is provided "as is" and "as available", and we exclude implied warranties to the extent allowed. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or training records, arising from your use of GoodLift. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act where it applies.
15. Changes to the service and these terms
We may update GoodLift and these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes to these Terms, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of GoodLift after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Apple App Store terms
If you download GoodLift from the Apple App Store, your use is also subject to Apple's applicable terms, including Apple's standard End User Licence Agreement (EULA). Where those terms apply, they are in addition to these Terms.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
